As an employee of your company/startup/studio, it is vital that I keep myself updated with new things happening in design and ux trends around every now and then. This will help me improve my skills and contribute even more to my job. With this in mind, I hope you grant me some time to attend the UXINDIA 2018 conference, touted as India’s biggest conference on User experience design.

This year’s conference will be held from the 4th to the 6th October at ITC Gardenia in Bangalore. The conference this year is power packed with talks and workshops by renowned industry experts from all across the globe, across multiple domains. There will be plenty of talks, hands-on workshops, live demonstrations, a UX talent fair and an opportunity to network with the bigwigs of the design and business world. The conference will help me get to know everything that is happening in the world of UX Design; improvements in user research, design methodologies, UX tools, design thinking and leadership, the future of UX (AI, AR, VR and more) and so much more. All this knowledge will surely help me, and in some way improve my working abilities and productivity.

Along with the talks, there will be multiple workshops on various topics; user research, designing for AR/VR, design thinking, user empathy and many others which should give me hands-on experience in understanding the nitty-gritty of the design industry. These workshops will give me the opportunity to improve my skill set which should also help me with my daily tasks. There will also be plenty of panel discussions which should help me understand how things work in the world of design.

I will also get the chance to network with the same industry leaders, which should help me gain valuable insight into how they work and think; which could, in turn, prove useful to us as a company/startup. Along with this, the UX Talent fair could help me check out the talent that is already present in the field, interact with students and other delegates and gain a much deeper understanding about the importance and need for design at this day and age.

The UXINDIA conference 2018 is something I don’t wish to miss this year. With so much design and business goodness on offer, this could be the opportunity I could use to better my skills and become a much more valuable asset to the company/startup. I hope I can take a few days off; not to slack off, but to immerse myself in the conference. The company doesn’t have to worry about spending much on my stay as there are plenty of budget friendly hotels like OYO around the venue; all of them offering discounts to delegates of the conference. Rest assured, I will be back to work, ready to face new challenges with a fresh and new perspective.
